BBQ Recipes that Are Healthy but Tasty.
The summer means many of us are BBQing more and enjoying the outdoors. But that doesn’t mean you have to throw your healthy eating out the window. Try these three healthy BBQ recipes. Your body and taste buds will thank you.
Cedar Grilled Salmon: This recipe is a fantastic way to grill fish. First soak a grilling cedar plank in water for at least 30 minutes. Next season your fresh salmon filet with fresh dill and lemon juice (half a lemon). Then place a bunch of fresh dill on the cedar plank (once removed from water). Then place the salmon on the cedar plank on top of fresh dill. Place the entire plank on the grill (upper rank) and cook for about 3-5 minutes with grill closed. Check that fish is flaky and cooked thoroughly at the thickest part. If not, cook another 2-3 minutes.
Grilled Brussels Sprouts: Grilling veggies can be another great way to eat healthy. First cut off the ends of the sprouts and place in a bowl. Next season with olive oil and S&P to taste. Mix well and place in a grill basket. Then place it on the grill for about 20 minutes occasionally mixing the sprouts. Remove from the grill and serve. For extra flavor, dress with white truffle oil.
Toasted Romaine Lettuce: This is another fun way to get lettuce in your diet. First, separate romaine leaves and place them on the top shelf of the grill. Close the grill and cook for 3 minutes. Once the leaves begin to wilt, drizzle balsamic vinegar over them and cook for another 30-60 seconds. Remove and serve warm.
